Atsushi Nishijima, a Japanese photographer based in New York, is renowned for his still photography in films like Money Monster (2016), Poor Things (2023), and The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017). His most significant collaboration is with Greek director Yorgos Lanthimos, spanning nearly a decade since their first project, The Killing of a Sacred Deer (2017). Nishijima has worked on Lanthimos’ films, including The Favourite (2018), Poor Things (2023), and Kinds of Kindness (2024), capturing behind-the-scenes moments with a candid, intimate style. Nishijima’s approach, influenced by his Japanese heritage, emphasizes quiet observation and authenticity.
