Terms of Service

Who we are

EZ Critic is operated by GeekTrade OÜ, a company registered in Estonia ("we", "us"). GeekTrade OÜ also operates the sister site Boo Critic (boocritic.com); both sites share one account system. By using EZ Critic you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

Who can use it

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account or submit content. You are responsible for your account and everything done with it. Keep your credentials to yourself, and give us accurate information when you register. One person, one account. Tell us promptly via the contact form if you suspect someone else is using your account; to the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses caused by your failure to keep it secure.

Your content

Reviews, ratings, reactions, lists, and profile content you submit remain yours. By publishing on EZ Critic you grant GeekTrade OÜ a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual license to host, display, reproduce, and adapt that content (for example excerpts or formatting) in connection with operating and promoting the service.

If you delete your account, your published reviews and ratings remain on the site without your name attached. They are part of each film's community record. Watchlists, custom lists, and profile data are deleted with the account.

Reviews submitted without an account are published anonymously and do not count toward community scores. If you register during the same session, your draft is attached to your new account.

House rules

Do not:

• manipulate scores - no multiple accounts, coordinated voting, review spam, or organized pile-ons meant to sink a film or punish the people who made it;
• harass, threaten, or abuse anyone, or post hateful or unlawful content;
• impersonate people or misrepresent affiliation;
• post content you have no right to post, including copyrighted text passed off as your own;
• scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the site or its data without written permission;
• probe, disrupt, or overload the service, or work around moderation and rate limits.

Our Community Policy explains how we expect members to treat each other; it forms part of these terms.

Moderation and karma

We may hold, reject, or remove content and restrict, suspend, or terminate accounts that break these terms. Reviews from new accounts may be held for approval before publishing. Karma is a reputation score that unlocks site features; it has no monetary value, and we may adjust it to correct abuse or errors.

Beyond that, we do not review content before it appears and have no obligation to do so. Each review is the responsibility of the member who posted it, and you may encounter opinions or content you disagree with or find unpleasant. When we remove content or restrict an account, we will tell you why where practicable, and you can contest the decision through the contact form. We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the authorities.

Catalog content

Film metadata, posters, and stills come from third-party sources and belong to their owners. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

Our content

The EZ Critic name, design, software, and everything on the site that is not member content or third-party catalog data belongs to GeekTrade OÜ. You may not reuse it beyond normal browsing and sharing without permission.

Copyright complaints

If you believe content on EZ Critic infringes your rights, contact us via the contact form with the content URL and proof of ownership. We review complaints promptly and remove content we determine to be infringing.

No warranties

EZ Critic is provided as is. Scores and reviews are opinions, not facts or recommendations. We do not guarantee the accuracy of catalog data or uninterrupted availability of the service. Member profiles and pages may link to external sites we do not control and are not responsible for.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, GeekTrade OÜ is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, and our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the service is limited to 100 euros or the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim, whichever is greater. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

Changes and termination

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on the site, and the date above always reflects the current version. We may also change, add, or remove features of the service at any time. You can stop using the site or delete your account at any time in your profile settings. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms.

The fine print

If part of these terms turns out to be invalid, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a term right away, we can still enforce it later. These terms are the whole agreement between you and GeekTrade OÜ about the service. We may transfer this agreement to a successor or affiliate; if you are an EU consumer and the transfer affects your rights, you may end the agreement. Legal notices may be sent electronically, to your account email or by posting on the site. Ideas and suggestions you send us may be used without obligation or payment. To the extent permitted by your local law, you will compensate us for third-party claims caused by your content or your breach of these terms.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of Estonia, and disputes belong to Estonian courts, without limiting mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence. Questions: reach us through the contact form.
