She was shooting a high-speed motorcycle chase on the Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (2016) film set in 2015 when she crashed into a metal camera arm. She suffered serious head injuries and a punctured lung and was placed in medically induced coma for 17 days after the accident, which happened during a shoot in South Africa. Her left arm also had to be removed due to extensive damage.
